Route Running: Not many passing game reps, going to hear that a lot in this report, but from what I have seen I am impressed. It is clear that the team hasn’t made it a huge priority for him but he has shown some natural ability in the area.

Blocking: The time they could spend on coaching route running has clearly been spent on blocking. His pass blocking is superb, his run blocking is physical, and he doesn’t get penalized in the area.

Contested Catch Ability: Not shown a lot of film given his passing work but he has the size to become lethal in this area his junior year. This is one to come back and visit after the season.

Ball Skills: Tracks the ball when in the air, attacks it using his physical advantages, and shows reliable hands with proper technique.

YAC Ability: Can get some speed behind his big frame after the catch, vision needs some work as it isn’t natural to him yet but again with more reps will come with a more refined YAC ability.

Fluidness/Flexibility: Fluid in and out of routes, shows the flexibility to be in-line and out, and can be used all three downs as he is not a liability blocking and can be a receiving tight end as well.

Vertical Threat: Not shown on film so this is a projection so fair warning, we mentioned his size earlier but with that frame, he does move well without the ball in his hand. One would think he will be able to do the same as a receiver when given the chance but again we will have to see.

Explosiveness: Lacks true explosiveness out of his route or when initiating blocking, and won’t ever be a pancake leader by any means but he still finds a way to be an effective blocker and receiver despite it.

Physicality: Loves to finish and drive defenders when blocking, does so in a fashion that doesn’t draw penalties either. As a receiver, not shown physicality there but based on his overall play style this will eventually be seen on film.

Versatility: Great versatility as a complete tight end, he is completely polished as a blocker but needs some more receiving work. Once he does that though he will be one of the most versatile tight ends in this class potentially.
