Route Running: Route running needs a lot of work, very raw, stiff hips when making cuts and overall his route tree is less than ideal. South Carolina did a great job with Jaheim Bell so they may help him in this area as well.
Blocking: More than a willing blocker. He just lacks the technique and positioning to be effective in the area
Contested Catch Ability: Can be 50/50 on contested catches, hands can let him down because he can bring the ball in but as soon as a defender fights him for the ball or hits him he is prone to losing it.
Ball Skills: Tracks the ball well, and looks the ball in when making a catch and making a move, but he has issues maintaining possession through the catch.
YAC Ability: In space, he can produce and fight through contact and make some moves. That being said, on certain routes and areas of the field he does have a hard time turning up due to his stiff hips.
Fluidness/Flexibility: Stiff hips and footwork along the sideline are lacking, but as far as position flexibility he is best suited to be an off-line tight end due to his blocking ability.
Vertical Threat: Straight line speed is decent, him attacking a defense up the middle or just attacking with his straight-line speed is his best bet. Vital that he is hit in stride though because if he has to stop he is lacking the microwave ability to heat back up with his speed.
Explosiveness: Decent burst off the line, lacks true breakaway speed or even speed to really separate from safeties or corners in pursuit. Also lacks power and explosiveness when blocking.
Physicality: Isn’t physical blocking or receiving, wouldn’t say he plays soft but he is right on the board of it if we are being honest. Need to see South Carolina bring an edge out of him across every facet of his game.
Versatility: Can be used as an off-line tight end and even as a wide receiver if we are being honest. That being said, that is about where his versatility starts and ends.
