Vision: Shows the vision to ID leverage and keeps an eye for the cut back on zone runs. On gap runs, he shows patience and allows blocks to develop.
Contact Balance: 6’0 215 pound frame allows him to absorb contact and stay on balance. Keeps his pad level low and doesn’t take blows head-on.
Pass Catching: Looks comfortable catching out of the backfield. Has shown the ability to run routes out of the slot.
Pass Blocking: Scans the backfield well. Can ID incoming blitzes. Stays square when engaged. Shows the play strength to stifle rushers.
Durability: Had season cut short by a dislocated elbow injury. 281 career carries headed into his junior season. Would not be considered a high mileage player if he were to leave school early.
Change of Direction Skills: Makes sharp, decisive cuts. No wasted motion. Shows lateral agility. Can put his foot in the ground and go when an alley opens.
Long Speed: Has enough burst and speed for the chunk play. May get run down by DBs in the open field, but still shows more than enough speed to be a serious home run threat.
Ball Security: Three Career fumbles so far. Holds the ball tight to his body. Often has multiple defenders bringing him down, but still won’t cough up the ball in a crowd. Also reliable catching the ball. Natural hands catcher.
Creativity: More of a no-nonsense runner. Will not dazzle with fancy jukes. Can make defenders miss, but more often than not runs through and over defenders.
Strength: Excellent play strength. Routinely runs through arm tackles and bounces off weak shoulder tackles. Even when in a player’s grasp he still drives his feet for extra yardage.
