Best Game:  Missouri
Worst Game:  Clemson

Pass Protection:  Mahogany’s timing off the snap is good. He’s able to slide and adjust to oncoming rushers as need be. He can be susceptible to speed rushers, but against power, he’s able to take the brunt head-on.

Balance:  Mahogany stays square and avoids reaching out of frame. On down blocks, he’s able to generate good push without leaning too far forward and throwing off his center of gravity.

Hand Placement:  Mahogany has a strong, powerful punch off the snap and strong grip once he’s got his matchup clamped in tight.

Football IQ:  Mahogany has high-end pre and post-snap intelligence. He can identify stunts and delayed blitzes well. He also identifies when to hand off his assignment to his tackle or center in order to pick up a delayed rusher.

Power: A phonebooth-style player, Mahogany plays with a mean streak and is a strong finisher.

Anchor:  Mahogany plays with a naturally wide base. At 6’3 and 335, he’s able to get underneath his matchup, unlock his hips and drive. He has good leverage integrity and doesn’t get stood up often.

Flexibility:  Mahogany has some lower-body stiffness due to his size, but he’s not inflexible.

Versatility:  Mahogany started as a redshirt freshman in 2020 at left guard before moving to right guard in 2021. He doesn’t seem to be a center at the next level because of his size and strength are best suited as a guard. He projects to be a power guard.

Movement Skills: Mahogany moves better when he’s going north-south as opposed to laterally. He can climb to the second level, but he’s not the most fleet of foot.

Footwork/Foot Speed:  Mahogany’s foot speed and quickness are very good, but not elite. His footwork is crisp despite his age (only a redshirt sophomore in 2021)

Summary: Mahogany is not likely to declare for the 2023 NFL draft after tearing his ACL in practice in June which will lead him to missing the upcoming season. However, if he were to play and improve, he’d be in the conversation to be a player taken on the second day of the draft. He’s a power-based guard at the next level who if he returns to his pre-injury form in 2023, he can be a top 5 player at the position.
