Player:  Henry To’o To’o

Year: Senior

Games Watched: Arkansas 2022, Texas A&M 2022, LSU 2022

====================================================================

Range: Athletic 6”1 230 frame with good speed. Can run sideline to sideline and shows good ability to drop into coverage. Has the speed to string out outside zone and stretch runs. Has the speed and range to serve as a spy for mobile QBs.

Processing Speed: Intelligent player. came in as a transfer from Tennessee, picked up the system and won the starting job in camp. Doesn’t often get fooled by motion in the backfield. Stays with his keys post snap. has the ability to slow play the rep and get a clean path to the runner. Reacts well deciphering run vs. pass.

Coverage Ability: Has experience in man and zone coverage. Shows the ability to carry TEs and RBs vertically in man coverage. Mostly drops straight back into his zone. Shows good spatial awareness relating to crossers in zone. Has shown instances where he could have gained more depth and made a play on the ball. In 2020 he secured his only collegiate career interception. Credited with 0 PBUs in 2022.

Motor/Effort: No questions about motor and effort. Doesn’t give up on plays that are run away from him. Gives good effort in pursuit. Plays through the whistle.

Tackling: Credited with 70 solo tackles and 16 missed tackles in 2022. Improved paly strength will assist in being able to finish more plays. Does show the ability to come to balance, keep shoulders square and drive through contact. Will dive at the ankles when he can’t attack with balance.

Block Shedding: Prefers to slip blocks with his quickness rather than stack and shed. Has shown some ability to shed using his hands. Will need further development in play strength to successfully disengage and deconstruct blocks consistently.

Blitzing/Pass Rush: Used as a blitzer often. Not much of a threat to get home unless he’s totally unblocked. Shows little upside as a pass rusher due to limited pass rush moves and plan. Most effective as a blitzer on stunts using his speed and stressing the protection and feeing up a teammate.

Run Defense: Effective run defender using his speed, quickness and processing ability. Reads his keys well. Shows good closing speed when he chooses to attack. Shows ability to sift through traffic and make tackles for loss.

Toughness/Power @ POA: Average play strength. Not much explosiveness in his shock and shed ability. Does not get movement on initial contact. Will need development in hand placement and driving feet through contact.

Versatility: Best when lined up as a true stacked MIKE/WILL. His coverage ability allows him to be a 3 down player. Has lined up on the edge as a rusher, and functions as a blitz threat with limited effectiveness.

Summary: Henry To’o To’o shows the athleticism and coverage ability to be a 3 down LB at the next level. I believe he’s best functioning as a stacked MIKE/WILL. Preferably partnered with a partner at LB that can be the force player to spill run to the outside, while To’o To’o can run the play down. To’o To’o can thrive in a predominantly even front scheme that emphasizes getting to the passer with the front 4 and allowing the 2nd level to play clean up. Improved play strength will help in his involvement in the pressure package where he does show some upside that needs development. Athletically he shouldn’t have any issues covering TEs in space.
