Vision: Finds open space. Keeps an eye on the cut back on zone runs.
Contact Balance: Listed at 5’11 200 pounds with more of a slender frame. Can survive contact with more pure athleticism and flexibility than core strength and power.
Pass Catching: Excellent upside as a receiver and route runner. Is a threat in the screen game and with development can run a WR route tree.
Pass Blocking: Willing blocker. Development should be able to ID the immediate threat when presented with more exotic defensive fronts. Lacks stopping power.
Durability: Missed time with an injury during freshman year. Played in all games during his sophomore season.
Change of Direction Skills: Dynamic in space. He has explosive change of direction skills to string moves together.
Long Speed: Home run threat every time he touches the ball. Instant acceleration allows him to get to top speed within a few steps. Should be rare that he is caught from behind.
Ball Security: Two fumbles in 178 touches in 2021. Catches and secures the ball with ease. Holds the ball tight to the lower chest stomach area while running
Creativity: Can give defenders foot fire, can put his foot in the ground and instantly change direction, or can simply outrun defenders. Gibbs has all these tools in his bag when running.
Strength: Not the most powerful RB. Has shown on film to be able to break tackles with a stiff arm. More likely to outrun and juke a defender than to run through them.
