Pass Protection: Foster is quick out of his snap on pass rush reps and covers plenty of ground in his kickslide. He can be susceptible to countermoves, such as the swim inside against Army. Foster keeps himself square against oncoming bullrushes but can have issues with speed rushers. He has room to grow, but his base-level ability in pass protection is serviceable
Balance: Foster has exceptional balance. In the run game, he’s rarely ever caught with his eyes over his toes which allows him to sustain blocks. In the passing game, he remains square and stays off his heels.
Hand Placement: Foster has decent hand placement and a good initial punch. He’s got strong enough grip strength when he has a defender clamped to sustain for the length of the play.
Football IQ: Foster has a high understanding of when to hand off his assignment to his guard and slide to a delayed blitzer. He’s not easily fooled by overload alignments presnap. He can, however, still be found standing straight up looking for something to do when he’s not engaged
Power: Not a physically imposing tackle by any means, Foster can still impose on defenders at the second level.
