League Winner Wednesday: Week 2

Week 2 has finished and it is time to round up the fantasy performances for League Winner Wednesdays Week 2. Each week, I will sum up the season-long rankings, discuss who is sneaking below the radar, and perform well.

LWW Season Long QBs after Week 2

QBs saw three players score their first LWS for the season (Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers and Taylor Heinicke) making it 17 QBs who have entered the scoreboard.

Kyler Murray is the only player (in any position) to have the perfect record of 30+ points in Week 1 and Week 2 after Mahomes only scored 24.02 points. Brady jumping to 3rd after being the most consistent QB after Kyler (27.16 and 29.64 points).

The players nearest to benchmarks were Brady (0.36 to 30 points), Daniel Jones (0.54 from 30 points), Carr (0.82 from 25 points), Mahomes (0.98 points from 25 points) and Garoppolo (0.44 points from 20 points).

That means that Carr has been just off the 25 point benchmark twice in two weeks, which would put him as the 4th most valuable QB so far.

Notable QBs who are yet to get on the scoreboard include Josh Allen and Justin Herbert.

RBs:

LWW Season Long RBs after Week 2

There were only 10 RBs that were ranked going into Week 2, meaning that nine new players entered the scoreboard over the weekend (Henry, A.Jones, Ekeler, Patterson, Pollard, McKissic, White, N.Harris and Elliott).

Week 1 saw no RB score more than 30 points and, therefore, no one is can get the perfect score. Derrick Henry (47.7) and Aaron Jones (41.5) both scored 30+ points to get 6 LWS – they are now #1 Ranked and #2 Ranked players. CMC rounds off the current podium on the same LWS (but no 30+ point game) after scoring 27.7 points in week 1 and 24.7 points in week 2.

CMC (24.7 points) was only 0.3 points off the 25 point benchmark and Najee Harris (0.9 points from 20+ points) were just off benchmarks. Devin Singletary (17.1 points) missed out on his first LWS by 0.1 points, with Darrell Henderson (17.2 points) rounded off the Top 10.

Notable RBs without a LWS: Chris Carson, Miles Sanders, Jonathan Taylor, Antonio Gibson, Josh Jacobs.

WRs:

LWW Season Long WRs after Week 2

16 WRs entered the scoreboard in Week 1, with another 12 entering in Week 2 (Terry McLaurin, Marquise Brown, Brandin Cooks, Rondale Moore, Mike Evans, Courtland Sutton, DJ Moore, KJ Osborn, Davante Adams, Michael Pittman and Freddie Swain).

If you put Lockett as your WR1 after week 2, you would be lying to yourself. No one saw this coming. That said, he is by far the most valuable player to own as it stands. Notable, Tyler Lockett needs one more game of 30+ points to be a League Winner (two games of 30+ points and three games of 25+ points). Kupp is clearly Stafford’s favourite toy at his new home and is WR2 with Deebo Samuel maintaining #3.

Courtland Sutton (24.9), Mike Evans (24.5) and Rondale Moore (24.4) can all count themselves as unlucky being so close to the 25 point benchmark. Same can be said for Diontae Johnson (19.5) and Calvin Ridley (19.3) for the 20 point benchmark.

TEs:

LWW Season Long TEs after Week 2

It wasn’t a great scoring week for the TEs (which is why they are included in the Top 10 Rankings with WRs), with Kelce (23.3), Hockenson (20.6) the only players to score 20+ points this week.

Gronk missed out by 0.1 points (19.9) meaning that he scored 0 LWS this week. After scoring 29.0 points (1 point off 30 points), he could be as high as Flex#3 with those 3 additional LWS he missed out on.
