Pass Protection: Reid covers ground very efficiently in his kickslide and is quick off the snap. He uses his length and athleticism to guide the defender past the QB. He’s susceptible to bullrushes and countermoves.
Balance: Reid can be prone to bending at the waist, throwing off his center of gravity. He too often overextends and can take himself out of a play.
Hand Placement: Reid has good hand placement, but it can still improve. He doesn’t have the strongest initial punch, but when his hand placement is in tight, he can control the defender.
Football IQ: Reid understands blocking angles and uses that knowledge to his advantage in the run game. He’s precise in his attacking of angles to take defenders out of the play.
Power: Reid needs to add more functional strength to his game. He’s not going to blow anyone off the ball or overwhelm anyone with his play strength.
Anchor: Much like his power game, Reid needs to improve his anchor integrity. He doesn’t sink low enough or play with a wide enough base. He can be stood up by an opponent that’s able to obtain leverage against him.
Flexibility: Reid is incredibly nimble, in large part due to his lower body flexibility. His ankle flexion and loose hips allow him to be used in a plethora of ways to showcase his athleticism.
Versatility: Reid’s only been a starter for one year and played exclusively at left tackle. If he develops more strength to his game, he can be a player that can be used on either side of the offensive line, but right now, he’s purely a finesse left tackle.
Movement Skills: Reid has elite movement skills for an offensive tackle. He’s explosive off the snap and can get outside for a screen play or climb to the second level in a hurry.
Footwork/Foot Speed: Reid has decent footwork although his feet can occasionally cross in his movements. His foot speed is what can keep him in reps when he’s beat.
