Pass Protection: Ingram has great spatial awareness in his pass sets and he uses that to keep his DL confined “in a phone booth”. Rarely does Ingram get caught on his back heels in pass pro so he’s sturdy far more often than not, aside from one bad rep against Mississippi State where his leverage and feet were wonky, I had no issues with this area of his game.
Balance: Sturdy. Ingram’s upper and lower bodies move in sync with one another and he doesn’t have many wasted movements to throw off his balance.
Hand Placement: Better with his hands in the run game than in the passing game. In pass pro, he can shoot his hands too early which leads to him missing his initial punch.
Power: A strong base with good leverage allows Ingram to generate plenty of power in his initial punch as a pass blocker. As a run blocker, Ingram can engage and drive his defender as long as he feels.
Football IQ: Ingram can identify stunts and blitzes. He also can time when to switch off a double team to pick up another defender.
Anchor: Ingram’s strong base and good movement skills lead to a great anchor. Bull rushing Ingram when he’s properly set is like running into a brick wall.
Flexibility: Ingram is more flexible than you would imagine a 320 pounder to be. Maintains knee bend in his sets and has no noticeable stiffness in his hips.
Versatility: Ingram has the length to be a tackle, but he would be at his best at guard in a system that allows him to use his power most effectively.
Movement Skills: He’s what some would coin a “dancing bear”. A fluid mover that’s light on his feet despite his size. Ingram is as good moving laterally as he is moving forward.
Footwork/Foot Speed: LSU used him plenty in pull blocks which spotlighted how well he moves his feet. Has a good kick slide and his feet rarely, if ever, cross when he’s moving.
Summary: A great senior season with the Tigers was enough to see him invited to the Senior Bowl where he won offensive lineman of the week for his team. Ingram should be a day one starter at the next level but would be best in a power run system.
